Question #487

By 2016-03-31, will either ATLAS or CMS (two experiments at CERN's Large Hadron Collider) have announced the discovery of a new particle likely to make up the bulk of the universe's dark matter?

The possibility of dark matter being discovered at the Large Hadron Collider is noted, for example, at http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/galac....

For the purpose of this question, a strong claim made by either the CMS collaboration or by the ATLAS collaboration, perhaps in a paper posted to arxiv.org, will be deemed sufficient. The strong claim must come from either CMS or ATLAS, and it must be backed by the collaboration.
